THE PR-Another cool and overcast Saturday morning so that means Val ran another race, her second 5K. This one was in downtown Anaheim and while it is a small, local event, it went well and Val lowered her 5K time by 27 seconds and finished it in a new PR of 21:39 which was 6:57 min/miles.
She rewarded herself for her fine showing and once again beating her nemesis, R. Baker, by buying her first pair of ultralight racing flats. She can’t wait to try ‘em out on the track Tuesday!
Now, for the PS (personally, SUCKED).
Later in the day, I ran 3.5 miles in Back Back and it really did suck.
My back was giving me fits, as usual. just like “back in my running day” when I actually enjoyed it most of the time. But on the bright
side, it was a beautiful sunny day with cool breezes. My pace averaged a
slow, but steady 9:11 min/mile. There were some bright spots in the run, but I’ll have to meditate on what they actually were. I’ll get back to you on that.
As it turns out, the posted Crossfit WOD for tomorrow is the 5K run so I am glad to have gotten that out of the way and I can do something that will suck much less!
