I knew it was coming, but I did not have enough time (rest) to prepare for it, but I had to complete this trilogy of five round punishment. How appropriate that I would finish off this terrible threesome at the House of Pain, a.k.a. Crossfit Marina. It was motivating to see the girls hard at work to be followed by the appearances of Dave and Brent. Added to the five rounds of 400 meter running, were 10 reps of 135 lb. Thrusters. No, let’s scale that back to 95# and 14 reps. No? Ok, then how about 65# and 20 reps. It sounds easier but it is not as the pain is prolonged by twice as many reps. At the end of the second round, my mind was saying I could simply “eject” and have a nice 3 round workout. I
I even visualized the parachute! Well scratch that, I tell myself and just finish it, and I did, in 22:19.

After looking at my uploaded graphs from my heart rate monitor I saw that this third workout in the progression was 20% more intense than the previous two. Can’t find an argument there. As usual, I got some good encouragement from the Overlords of the the HOP and Brent. Tomorrow, it is on to a favorite, back squats. Hopefully, all the required body parts will show up.
