What a difference good better form makes! One of the lifts I have had difficulty getting is the front squat because of the flexibility required from the wrists and to be able to hold the elbows up and use them to lift me out of the "hole". That part of my technique was much better today as was getting the bar to rack correctly across the front of my shoulders. On the squatting part of the lift, there was no groin issue and I was able to get deep in the squat even with the heavier lifts. When I took the bar off the rack, I was able to get my body "solid" and in good position. In other words, this lift came together for me tonight and it was fun!
My previous best single lift was performed two and a half months ago and I lifted 180 but was wobbly and in poor form. Tonight, I finished with 205 lbs and could have gone heavier, I believe. For good measure, when I finished, i dropped the weight down to 135 and did 2 x 135 x 5.
The stats for the 7 singles, after lighter weight warm-ups were: 115/135/155/178/185/195/205 pr.
I came into the gym late afternoon Sunday; only 3 or 4 other people there and definitely not the time ordinarily to get fired up to lift, but it turned into a very good lifting workout. More than the pr, I am happy to have made a big leap to getting the technique of this lift down to handle heavier weight.

1Hey, great effort on the front squat. There is something satisfying about nailing that lift. It is a real bear when it is done wrong. I am convinced that is one of the better lifts to give you form feedback. I know immediately when I am doing that one wrong, because my back or abs seem to be doing all the work.
