Getting Closer To Kipping Pull-ups

Tonight I had the chance to practice kipping pull-ups during my warm-up, during the WOD and afterwards and I think I have to start of getting it working although they weren’t pretty and was more of a convulsive frog kick than anything. Learning this skill has been long overdue for me since kipping pull-ups are a big part of Crossfit workouts as well as any other bodyweight training regimen for pull-ups in general. I’ll get it going soon. The WOD was something that was done not too long ago and I liked it.

30 Handstand Push-ups (HSPU) used a Smith machine to prop my legs on.
10 Pull-ups: I kipped these 8+2
20 HSPU
20 Pull-ups, assisted
10 HSPU
30 Pull-ups, assisted
Time was 8:48.

Afterwards, I chatted with some friends and before I left, worked some more on the kippers and did two more sets of 9 and 8 reps. I should do some everyday.

Nice time on the WOD. An 8:48 time is really impressive.

Those HSPUs take 80% of my time. I am sure my pull ups constituted no more than 2 minutes. I cannot believe how much improvement I need to make on these. After the first set of 8 or 10, for the remainder of my effort, I cannot get more than 4 or 5 in at a time.
