Doubles or Nothing?

The "featured" exercise in today’s WOD are "double unders". That is when while jumping rope, the rope makes two turns per jump. Well, what if you can’t do those? You jump 3 times as many! That makes it interesting because I could barely do even that! Nevertheless, it took a while, but I got a rhythm going by the second round. There were other things to do, like push-ups and pull-ups. On the face of it, it looked like a burner, but not so bad. Wrong. It was worse. I got toasted by the end of the fist round!  Here is the workout.

150 rope jumps (jumped high for max effort)
50 push-ups, 50 pull-ups (strict and assisted)
90 rope jumps
30 push-ups, 30 pull-ups
60 rope jumps
20 push-ups, 20 pull-ups
in 21:25

I was gasping during the very first round and didn’t stop until 5 minutes after the last round. Damn, this one was tough! I would like to think it was just that I was tired today and should have taken the day off. Well, I should have taken the day off today, but I still would have had my butt kicked by this WOD regardless of the day I did it on. During the recovery, I did have a nice endorphin buzz and a big appetite. I’ll sleep great tonight.
Out.
