Putting both of those exercises in the same workout is just plain SICK!!! (Ok, I’ll do it). Today’s entree features again, 5 rounds of 400 meter runs. I did those today at Met-Rx on one of two GPS-measured 400 meter routes. New to all this running was doing 12 reps of 225# deadlifts after each run. The boys aren’t used to seeing someone crank out some deads and then run through the gym to get outside. (Maybe some thought I was have GI difficulties). These WODs are mostly about non-stop movement as the timer is on, but some of these guys want to stop and chat. They have too much time on their hands! Get busy and lift something! I did this workout according to the way it was prescribed. For better form, I should have scaled this back a bit to maybe 185 lbs, but I was feeling frisky and did the full amount and I am glad I did. I got a lot of work in and it was heavy. My form broke at the thrid round so I had to stop and reset several times as my grip was starting to go.
I got it done in 21:28, not that it mattered when all the liftin’ and runnin’ was done. Back to Marina tomorrow morning for more running tomorrow, Ugghh!

1This one was a brutal one, wasn’t it? I scaled back to 165, and I am glad I did. I am impressed that you knocked out 5 x 12 rounds of 225 lbs.
I particularly enjoy thinking about you running all the way back from the lifting platform, through the entire gym, out the door, and then running back through the entire gym about 2 minutes later.
I am sure more than a couple people did think you were nuts. I say “let them think that.” At least it would be a distraction from their extended lounge sessions.

2Brent, it’s funny to me because it is so different from what everyone else is doing. When I trotted back to the platform to start the final round, this guy at the rack next to me tried to start up a conversation about how he used to deadlift. All I could do is focus on my task at hand. Same guy tried to continue his talk when I hit the deck. I’d like to think I’m to polite to ignore someone, but I can make exceptions! Mostly, I am just ignored, which is best,
