Those are two things you normally would not imagine doing in the same workout, but that is exactly what today’s WOD was. The prescribed workout was 3 rounds, for time of 225# deadlifts, 21-15-9 reps, interspersed with three 800 meter runs. Sounds nasty and it was.

I scaled mine back for 200# which meant increasing my reps to 24-17-10. I had this written on a piece of paper along with the number of reps I would have to do if I set the bar up with 185#. That would be 26-18-11 reps. Well, I wasn’t paying very good attention to my "cheat sheet" and for the first two rounds I had done a total of three extra reps. Hey, they were HARD!

The running part was interesting as my feet "thought" they could go faster but the legs said, "no way, dude." It was a tough WOD and the sets in the 2nd round especially gotten broken up.

To make matters more unpleasant, the distance was more than 800 meters and I felt nauseous in the beginning on top of a headache.

I turned in a time of 24:49.

Some days, the best part of the workout is the shower afterwards. Today was one of those days.
