We’re still a few days away from our new early Daylight Savings Time, so when I go out for a skate at 5:45 pm it will be still be light. Today though, I started at dusk and finished in the dark which slowed things down a little especially while skating in the bike lane on Pacific Coast Hwy and the street construction on Irvine Rd. It was a beautiful early evening skate around Back Bay, a 10 mile loop beginning and ending at mi casa. In addition to the fun aspect of the skate, it was also a cardio training session which lasted 50 minutes.

I have had a long-healing groin strain on both sides which was a problem at the beginning of the skate because the adductors push the legs out on the power stroke and is especially noticeable when hill climbing. That aside, it was nice to get out and roll around the loop.
