On March 6th, local strength athletes, including the 2009 champion, Sean Demarinis gathered to fine-tune their lifts. Here is a sneak preview of the action you can expect on the 27th.
Here are the bios of the athletes slated to compete. If you are up to it, go ahead and handicap them!
Last year’s SoCal Strongest Man Competition was a smashing success and will even be better this year. The fans and the athletes both enjoyed the up-close format and the energy was contagious!

One of the most insidious devices ever constructed is the Prowler. If you ever went up against one, you know what I am talking about and you probably even know what “Prowler Flu” is. It was our “finisher” for Saturday’s training session and it fully completed it’s task with predictable outcomes.

The big day finally arrived and it could not have been a better day with the sun shining and moderate temperatures starting in the mid-50-s up to the mid-60’s. I could tell early on this would be great competition with a big, enthusiastic turnout. It was all that and much more.
Scott Brengel and his team did a fine job with this exciting and fast-paced event. Competitors and spectators alike were quick to agree and everyone was caught up in the energy. Each event seemed to draw the crowd in closer and closer to the athletes and by the time the last event, the Atlas Stones got underway, the athletes were surrounded by a wildly cheering and enthusiastic crowd, which stoked up their fire even more.
Take a look at the slideshow of the pictures I got, or if you prefer go to the strongman pictures to comment and download what you like. If I get any more, I will put them up as well.
The following video clips will give you an idea of the intensity of the competition.
