Good stuff happened this week and Tuesday was a high volume, CNS-blasting session, masterly programmed by the Brengel. The week finished with a deloading week, starting on Saturday, followed by an unexpected, surprise training session Sunday.
CNS-thrashing, ass-kicking, strength building training week, leading into an unload week.
The first two sessions of the week are devoted to strength and working the central nervous systems (CNS). Saturday is speed, technique and work capacity. This is the hardest type of training I have ever done. It is great!
I started getting trained by my pal Scott of http://www.eastweststrength.com. After watching him train others from the old Freak Factory, I decided it was time for some real training. I came away with 2 killer sessions.
Started and finished very light this week but between the buns was the meat. A deload week, more or less.
This was a good week to do some things I haven’t done or at least done in a while. It kept training interesting and definitely fun, like keg tossing.
Tweet Monday, 6/29/09 Deadlifts: (from deficit) 135×10/225×5/225×5/. 275×3/315×2/. Singles: 365/405/415/415/425/425/425/405/405/. 415 and 425 were above 90% 1RM. Good Mornings: 95×5/115×5/135×5/135×5/135×5/.
Good form trumps all. The one rep you get sloppy on can injure you. Yup, one sloppy swing got me this week.
Fortunately, I was let of with a warning.
Somewhere along the way, I seem to have lost a bit of strength. I was on the Velocity Diet for 3 days but switched over to the tried and true Warrior Diet.
