Get him some Kettlebells!
Three year old Liam Hoekstra of Roosevelt Park, Michigan is one strong little dude. He has a rare genetic condition called myostatin-related muscle hypertrophy which is characterized by large muscles and low body fat, but the best part is he is very strong and gets to eat whatever he wants-6 times a day! Doctors says there are no negative side effects. Looks like this kid has a major gift.
In the picture he is lifting a pair of 5 lb dumbbells and is also pretty good at cranking out sit-ups and chin-ups with ease.
Liam is a media darling as a result, but his parents have wisely steered him clear of the freak show circus of “World’s Strongest Boy” and all that nonsense the media likes to engage in.
Can you imagine when this kid, as a teenager, gets his next big testosterone boost? His parents have him on the right track with gymnastics classes now and as he gets older, he will lift weights.
It will be very interesting to watch Liam’s life unfold to see if he becomes a star athlete as many predict. I am certain trainers and sports federations around the world will be keeping an eye on little Liam as he grows up (and stronger).
Scientists are researching how to manipulate myostatins in the body to boost performance.
