Old School Olympic Lifting and Training

According to Zach Even-Esh, who dug this up, this footage is from Poland in the early 1970′s. Good display of assistance exercises too. The black & white makes this look even older.

I love free weights with no embellishment.

Nothing even comes close. I find it amusing when friends of mine travel and they hope the hotel has a decent gym or there is a good one nearby so they can get a workout in. I can just do a Tabata or walk outside and look for rocks to lift and throw. I can even push the rental car around the lot if I so desire.

Barbells do so much better a job than machines, of course, but I am finding just how neurally challenged I am when dumbbells are used.
