Last year, for a few short weeks, I had the luxury of learning the Olympic snatch from Stephane Rochet, a protege’ of Mike Burgener. The lift seemed so simple, but as Stephane broke it down to the progressions, I understood that it was not all that simple. Since then, I have taken my learning from wherever I can and today, I found an article over at T-Nation in which Sean Waxman of purestrength.com does a really nice job of breaking down the snatch into the six progression lifts, with video of each. So, I think my winning formula for learning the lift is following Sean’s advice, doing the Burgener warm-up several times a week and getting in the reps. One of these days, I may even post a video of me doing a kick-ass snatch!
