DOMS, or delayed onset muscle soreness is what i have 3 days after “Murph”. That dude kick my ass!. On July 4th, I was sore and tired (had an afternoon schnappy). On the 5th, I was even more sore and since I lowered my immune response, my allergies kicked in, giving me congestion and a headache. I didn’t even workout the 4th and the 5th!. By the 3rd day after, July 6th, I still had the allergy symptons and the soreness was beginning to subside, but it was time to get busy and lift something!

Once a week, I have been doing set of 5 rep squats at 165# and this week I was up to 7 sets of 5 with 1 minute rest between. After some Cross fit warm-ups and lighter squat loads I was ready to do the 7×5’s making sure the form was good and I got all the way down.

After knocking out 35 reps of squats, I took a 2 minute rest and did 8×3 presses with a 135 on the bar, which is 73% of my 1RM. On the very last rep, I did 6 press-ups, which was lowereing the bar about 8″ and pushing it back up to strengthen the ligaments and tendons for heavier lifts another day.
