2010 SoCal Strongest Man Contest-the Recap

Keg Tossing on the Beach

What a great day at the beach for the 2nd Annual SoCal Strongest Man Competition! With sunny skies and weather in the low-70′s you couldn’t ask for a better day!

With over 30 competitors, as expected, the competition was friendly, but fierce in both the light-heavyweight category, (up to 230 lbs) and the Heavyweight group, (over 231 lbs). The light Heavyweight title almost changed hands from last year’s winner, Sean Demarinis, who was down by a single point going into the final event, the Atlas stones. Sean, however, rallied with amazing speed lifting the stones and kept his title for another year.

Last year’s heavyweight champion, Erik Peterson, was unseated by last year’s runners-up, Dan Harrison, weighing in at about 380 lbs on a 6’2″ frame.

The event’s master of ceremonies, pro strongman, Scott Brengel
