I just heard about this bullshit before I clicked on your blog. Typical political shit that always rears its ugly head when too many administrative types try to make a living on the backs of athletes. Most of the Olympic sports have enormous (and unnecessary) administrative staffs, not too mention the horrendously run and ineffective USOC and IOC.

Yesterday, an Olympic lifter from India tested positive and was pulled from the Games. I wouldn't be surprised if Rezazadeh's masking program wasn't going as planned to explain his withdrawal.

This really is shitty news for Casey. I feel terrible for this upstanding young man who has competed CLEAN for years, earned a degree (in Physics), and represented himself, his family, and his country with class and dignity. He truly represents the Olympic ideal.

A day after the respective US athlete team captains made a perfect choice in selecting Lopez Lomong to be the US flag bearer in the Opening Ceremony of the Games, the governing bodies let down one of their best examples of athletic excellence AND sportsmanship. Way to go.

Best of luck to Casey. I hope he still gets a chance to compete.
